Suboxone Treatment for Opioids in N.C.
Discover Recovery from Opioid Addiction at Solas Health
It is important to seek help for opioid use immediately as the risk is so high. The overdose epidemic is driven by the prevalence of illegal counterfeit versions of fentanyl or their cheaper substitutes nitazines. On top of the rampant risk of overdose that fentanyl and these related synthetic opioids pose, they are often "cut" with the veterinary anesthetic xylazine, which can cause necrotic skin ulcerations.
Solas Health is a unique drug rehabilitation center that focuses on healing the whole person. We integrate medication into your treatment, when appropriate. The medications we prescribe help reduce craving and improve success rates.
Suboxone, Subutex, and Sublocade are the most popular brand names for medications that include the drug buprenorphine. Buprenorphine has a molecular structure that’s similar to opioids, but the mild effects of buprenorphine don’t cause you to get “high.” It lessens withdrawal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, muscle aches, and anxiety. We have over a decade of experience in administering medication-assisted treatments for opioid use disorders (OUD) using buprenorphine. We have seen outstanding results with a very high percentage of success. In fact, evidence-based medicine has shown that this particular treatment can produce positive results in up to 92% of patients, which is consistent with our experience. Hope and freedom from addiction to opiates can be a reality.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Compassionate Support
We have found that our patients who take advantage of medication-assisted treatment and also pursue counseling, 12-step (or non 12-step) support groups, and pursue a spiritual approach to recovery are able to move towards a happy and fulfilling life.

The medication prevents opiate withdrawal syndrome. The significant physical discomfort caused by this syndrome is the reason many individuals give for failing to conquer their addiction.
Early symptoms of opiate withdrawal occur in the first 24 hours after stopping the drug and include:
- Muscle aches
- Restlessness
- Anxiety
- Runny nose
- Excessive sweating
- Inability to sleep
- Frequent yawning
Symptoms occurring after the first full day off opiates are typically more intense and include:
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal cramping with nausea and vomiting
- Dilated pupils
- Blurry vision
- Rapid heartbeat
- Elevated blood pressure
Is Suboxone safe?
The FDA has approved Suboxone for treating opiate addiction. The experienced healthcare team at Solas Health believes the drug is quite safe when used judiciously and as prescribed. As is the case with any drug, including those as commonplace as antibiotics, side effects can occur. Misuse of the drug can create potentially serious medical issues. However, should you choose to take Suboxone, the team at Solas Health will monitor your progress closely and evaluate your physical health frequently.
Dr. Corrigan invites individuals interested in hearing more about Suboxone to contact the offices of Solas Health for an evaluation and consultation regarding MAT in general and the use of Suboxone as an aid in overcoming opiate addiction.
